IC2118 - Witchhead Nebula
|
IC2118 Witchhead Nebula This is a reflection nebula in the Eridanus, located close to the Orion Constellation. With some imagination you can see the old hag. Her chin is in the lower left and her lips are situated close to the bright red star, her hook nose is just above her lips. She faces to the left. Due to it's large size and faintness it takes long exposures to capture the image. Image field of view: 1.5 x 2 degrees. (North is down). The exposure was not long enough in the blue spectrum to bring out all the detail. Date: 01-05-03 Telescope: Tak FSQ 106 Mosaic of two pictures Camera:ST8XE Exposure Time: BRGB 30min;30min;30min; 2x2bin two pictures combined Processing: Maxim; Adobe combined, and knitted together. |
