IC434 - Horsehead Nebula

IC434 - Horsehead Nebula
E. Pickering detected IC 434 phoographically in 1889 and later E.E. Banard recognized the object in 1910. The first published description was by Barnard in 1913 and is also known as Banard 33. The Horsehead is dark globule of dust and non-luminous gas, obscuring the light coming from behind. It is situated about 1,600 light years away in the constellation orion. If you look closely, it appears that the gas looks as though it is painted with brush strokes. The picture looks like a pastel painting. The Almighty is certainly an artist with a canvas that is unimaginable.
