IC434 - Horsehead Nebula

IC434 - Horsehead Nebula

This is one the first color exposures I took with my ST8 SBIG Camera.  The picture was taken in my front yard in Austin.  To the lower left is the flame nebula NGC2024 with the bright star Alnitak just above it.  Alnitak is one of the three star's in Orion's belt and has a magnitude of 1.74.  The star is so bright that it quickly floods the camera and makes this picture difficult without a anti-blooming camera.  The Horse head siloutte can been seen in the center.
