IC5146 - Cocoon Nebula

This is an extrodinary beautiful Nebula.  It exibits the characteristics of a emision, reflection and transmission nebulas.

It is located about 4000 light years in the direction of Cygnus.  The massive star in the center is believed to have opened

up the existing molecular cloud.  This same star is providing the energy to light of the nebula.
