Webcam Pictures

Following picture were taken in the first half of 2004 with a webcam attached to

either my RC10" for RC14.5" telescope with a 2x barlow.  I used Registax to stack the individual frames.

In most cases I stacked at least 500 pictures.

In the above picture you can faintly see the moon Io at the right of the frame.

Jupiter

Jupiter is a gas giant and has the diameter of 11 earths; the largest planet in our solar system.  This is a picture taken with my ST8E camera, composed of the best of about 30 shots.  The planet rotates, thus each red, green, and blue shot needs to be within a few minutes or the planet rotates and causes blurring.  You can make out the red storm on mars.  

 

Here is a picture taken by Voyger 1 in Feb 1979 showing the red spot.
