M20 Trifid Nebla

M20 Trifid Nebula
One of the most beautiful nebulas in the northern hemisphere. You have two nebulas adjacent to each other with opposite colors of red and blue. The red glowing nebula is the result of two very hot stars in the center energizing the surrounding hydrogen gas. The blue nebula is a reflection nebula and lastly the dark lanes are older star material that obsorbs light.
